Miami-Dade city erects nativity scene for the first time in its history!
Will more Miami-Dade cities follow suit?
MIAMI-Today the Christian Family Coalition (CFC), Florida's premiere human rights and social justice organization announced that, for the first time in its history, the nine-year old city of Doral erected a nativity scene at the town's city hall.
After the run-off elections in November, in which newly-elected mayor Luigi Boria won with the support of the CFC, the CFC met with the mayor, at his request, to consult him on the constitutionality of nativity scenes on public property.
"Tis the season for fairness, in a time where cities are openly discriminating against the nativity scene in their holiday displays, the city of Doral has chosen to respect its duty to treat all of its citizens equally, by featuring the nativity scene in its holiday display for the first time ever.
We applaud newly-elected Mayor Luigi Boria and the entire town council, for its show of goodwill towards all, in displaying the nativity scene", stated Anthony Verdugo, Founder and Executive Director, Christian Family Coalition.
